This place embodies so many qualities: history, courage, creativity, sustainability, and peace. Each element has its own story. Let us guide you through the journey of this magical home.

The story begins in 1776, when this rural house was first built. Its construction and many details suggest it once belonged to a humble farmer's family. It survived 230 years, gradually deteriorating over time. Then, in 2006, Beatriz and Felix took over and decided to revive the place. Why courage? Because the state of the building was rather daunting—no water, no electricity, crumbling walls, holes in the roof, and muddy land exposed to the elements. Courage or madness? Perhaps a bit of both, but the world belongs to the brave, and this place does too!

Slowly but surely, they recreated the rural house, rescuing whatever was possible - tiles, bricks, wood. They did everything to keep the soul of the house. But they went a step further. Every tiny detail in the house is handmade - lamps, decorations - all following permaculture philosophy. They also introduced new technologies to ensure the use of renewable energies.

We’ve arrived at the last point - peace. All this hard work resulted in a truly peaceful, beautiful, and cozy house and surroundings. It resulted in an amazing place for guests to live many amazing moments.

About The Host

Beatriz

La Isla Verde is our dream come true. We've transformed an old farmhouse into a modern, sustainable, and environmentally respectful haven. Nestled in a 400m² estate, it is secluded in the heart of nature, surrounded by Mediterranean forests and timeless paths.

We believe in the harmony between humans and their environment, which is why we approach every decision with care and mindfulness. This commitment has enabled us to achieve energy self-sufficiency for our estate, with all our actions focused on minimizing our impact on the planet.

We treasure what nature provides and express our gratitude by restoring hidden corners, pathways, and vegetation. We nurture the land just as it nurtures us.

About us:

  • We speak: Spanish, Catalan, German, French and English.
  • We live next to La Isla Verde, but we give you your space and privacy.
  • We use renewable energy. This choice implies that the energy use of the house must be conscious and efficient.
  • La Isla Verde has been renovated with ecological materials.

Special charms of our house:

  • Our house was renovated following the earthship philosophy. The word justifies its content, as ships were the first to introduce green energy to meet their self-consumption needs during voyages.
  • Many decorations are handmade with upcycled materials. We try to give a second life to every tiny item.
