Sounds of birds, the gentle whisper of the wind, and boundless peace await you here. Nestled in the heart of the forest, this house offers a true escape where freedom is palpable.
This place boasts over 100 years of history, with a story as rich as it is captivating. Once home to mountain dwellers and their animals, it offers a glimpse into rural life of the past, where electricity and heating were luxuries, and winter's chill was a constant outside the window. Ingenious solutions were employed: family members lived on the ground floor, while animals were sheltered in the basement, their warmth helping to keep the family cozy. The same stone walls that now exude charm were once shrouded in darkness, their surfaces obscured by the smoke of lamps. Sadly, as time passed and urbanization encroached, the place gradually lost its inhabitants, succumbing bit by bit to the ravages of time.
When Pepona and Jordi undertook the renovation of this place, they did so with love, enlisting the help of the local community to revive its spirit. Their efforts were not in vain. Although no longer home to sheep and cows, it retains echoes of its past, with remnants of its former residents adorning the walls. Original and authentic items imbue the house with a sense of history and character.
Concerns about modern amenities such as electricity, heating, and running water need not arise. This place is a self-sustaining haven, powered by solar panels and drawing water directly from mountain springs.
Take a leisurely stroll through the forest, soak in the panoramic views, or simply relax in the backyard, listening to the melodies of the birds. Cozy up by the fireplace and savor the tranquility of this serene retreat.

Pepona and Jordi
We instantly fell in love with La Pegatera when we first laid eyes on it. However, the owner wasn't keen on selling or renting it out at the time. It took us over a year of gentle persuasion to change his mind. Finally, La Pegatera became ours. That was 35 years ago, and back then, it was a far cry from what it is today. Left abandoned for some time, the house was almost in ruins. Yet, we believed it was worth every effort. It demanded patience, hard work, and moments of uncertainty. We recall one evening, sitting by the fireplace in the dim light, wondering if our dream would ever come true. But it did. We breathed new life into La Pegatera, ensuring that many more could enjoy its charm and tranquility.
